The Ranking of Digital Economy Universities is the result of analytical study designed to identify leaders among universities in terms of their contribution to the digital economy based on a survey of some of the top IT and high-tech companies. The study is carried out in association with the assistance if the Association of Computer and Information Technology Companies and measures the scale of IT training provided by Russian universities and the feedback from industry on which universities provide the highest-quality staff and are seen as providing the highest-value academic background for employees for the digital economy.

In its 2025 edition, the Ranking includes 14 universities based in Moscow and Saint Petersburg and 15 universities from other regions of Russia. TUSUR has improved its positions in the regional ranking by two points compared to its result the year before.
