African Students Learn About High-Tech Entrepreneurship in TUSUR Student Business Incubator

On September 25, African students from various Russian universities learned about high-tech entrepreneurship in TUSUR SBI within the framework of advanced training in Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship in IT.

As part of the program, guests had a tour around the SBI, got to meet the residents and had a chance to try themselves as startupers during the business game Startup Constructor.

“Despite not being native speakers, the students did great coming up with innovation startups based on case-cards and communicating their ideas within just one minute. That isn’t something that is easy to do even for Russian students,” said Head of TUSUR SBI Gleb Sadykov.

It is the second time TUSUR University is participating in the Russia-Africa Summer Multidisciplinary University, a project by the Russian African Network University consortium. This year 18 students and postgraduates from Zambia, Senegal, Cameroon, Cote-d’Ivoire, Angola and Zimbabwe, who study at Tomsk, Novosibirsk and Ekaterinburg universities, had been

improving their knowledge and skills in innovation-driven entrepreneurship in IT under the course of two weeks.

The Russian African Network University consortium promotes free and equal partnerships of Russian and African universities and research organizations in the areas of education, life-long learning and research. As of today, its membership includes 46 African universities, 90 Russian universities, 5 Russian research institutes and 5 organizations.
